Bills are sent out on a rotating quarterly basis.
How does ASA set my wastewater treatment rate?
Sewer usage is established for the year based on your winter quarter usage. You'll see that usage in your February bill. For the remaining three quarters of the year, you will be billed at this usage or actual usage, whichever is lower.
How much is the wastewater treatment rate?
The charge is $6.36 per each 1,000 gallons of water used, plus an account service charge per bill of $4.51.
Why did I receive an estimated bill?
On rare occasions, it may be necessary for your bill to be estimated. This could occur because of weather or some event that dose not allow for an actual reading of the meter. The effect of the estimate is corrected in the next quarter when an actual reading occurs.

City of Alexandria Sewer Service Charge
These revenues go to the City of Alexandria for the maintenance of sewer lines in the City. Rate effective as of July 1, 2005 is $1.00 per 1,000 gallons of water usage, with a minimum charge of .40 cents per month or $1.20 per quarter.
City of Alexandria City Utility Tax
These revenues go to the City of Alexandria. The residential customer rate is 15% of your monthly utility bill. The commercial and industrial customer rate is 15% of the first $150 of your monthly utility bill.
